The Golden Gate Bridge

Day 1

Over the Golden Gate Bridge to Napa

Collect your car and drive through San Fran and over the famous Golden Gate Bridge. Spanning the headlands of San Fran and Marin County, one of the worlds must beautiful bridges is a delightful experience whether you walk, bike or drive across. You can gain stunning views by driving up Conzelman rd on the north side of the bridge.

Day 2

Enjoy the Wine Country

You don't have to like wine to enjoy this area. These two neighbouring valleys offer stunning scenery made up of perfectly manicured vineyards stretching across rolling hills can be enjoyed by car or even by an early morning hot air balloon ride. This is a foodies’ heaven, with places like Thomas Keller’s Bouchon, and if you happen to like wine then visit one of the hundreds of vineyard tours available.

Day 3

Wine Country, Sacramento and Lake Tahoe

A packed day of scenic driving today. First cruise the valleys of Napa and Sonoma, taking in the vineyards and rolling hills. You’ll pass Sacramento on the way to Lake Tahoe, stop by and admire some of the the capitols buildings and sights. Then onto Lake Tahoe, split in half by the California/Nevada state line and completely surrounded by alpine mountains, this natural wonder is quite a sight to behold. Casinos welcome you to the Nevada potions of the shoreline, whilst classy ski resorts can be found all around.

Day 4

Snow time at Alpine Meadows!

More like a sea than a lake, Lake Tahoe even has a tide and beaches. There are also 7 major ski resorts here and many more smaller ones. Here are just a few. Why not start in Alpine Meadows? It features 12 lifts and a surface lift for beginners and children. Alpine Meadows has than 100 runs covering 2,000 acres, kid's programs, family ski area and more challenging runs for the more accomplished.

Ski Northstar

Ski Kirkwood

Kirkwood is to be found 30 miles before you reach the South shore of Lake Tahoe making this resort popular with no-nonsense skiers who want to get to skiing as soon as as they can. Kirkwood claims 65 trails with 12 lifts and 2,300 acres of ski slopes and among the longer ski seasons of any of the Tahoe resorts. Good cross-country trails are appropriate for all ages and accomplishment levels.

Day 7

Ski Squaw Valley

Site of the 1960 Winter Olympics, Squaw Valley is just among the best ski resorts to be found anywhere. Cutting edge lift systems and 4,000 skiable acres with lots of possibilities for beginners all the way to the most experienced. Child care and ice skating, ski school and a great cable car ride to the High Camp facilities. Snow tubing, bungee jumping, bars and restaurants, an arcade and cinema and even night skiing if you can't get your fill during the day.
