Spend the morning by the pool or watching the sunrise on the beach. After checking out of your hotel, start the car and take the picturesque Highway 1 and Highway 74 to Sinatra’s favourite getaway - Palm Springs. Like a mirage in the desert, Palm Springs offers you luxurious shelter from the deserts that surround it. Lay by the pool, shoot a round of golf or cruise its streets checking out the modernist architecture. Explore Joshua Tree NP before heading east to Lake Havasu

Filled with weird spiky trees and giant clumps of coloured rocks formed by once molten granite. Joshua Tree National Park is an alien landscape, that if not real could only have been dreamt up by Dr Suess himself. Continue east to the oasis of Lake Havasu, where you can visit London Bridge which oddly was exported here from London in the 1970s.

Vegas Baby!!!

Day 6

Drive a section of Route 66 to Las Vegas via the Hoover Dam

You’ll join an old section of Route 66 today, before heading over the Hoover Dam on the border of Arizona and Nevada. Welcome to Las Vegas! It’s glitzy, it’s tacky and it’s wrong on so many levels.. But we love it! Firstly, it’s unique and secondly, it’s hedonism at its finest. First class hotels, cuisine and entertainment in the middle of a desert landscape miles from anywhere. Oh, and if you like a gamble then this is the place to be.

A second day in Las Vegas. If your head hurts after a big night out, then chill by one of the amazing pools that adorn every hotel. If not, then why not explore the legendary Strip, book tickets to an awesome show or shop till you drop. As for food, we recommend visiting one of the hotel buffets on at least one occasion during you stay. Just make sure that you’re hungry when you go!
